										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Washing machines are a source of structure borne noise. Structure borne noise passes through the adjustment legs to the surroundings, and it can be a very disturbing source of noise in many buildings. We have developed a new type of vibration isolation platform for the washing machine structure borne noise. The platform has been tested in a two-story wooden house, where washing machine structure borne noise was an issue. Today with the InfiniSpring Vibration Isolation Platform the washing machine can be operated even at nighttime and the residents can sleep in peace.</p>
<p>The vibration isolation platform utilizes InfiniSpring steel spring isolators. The steel spring isolators are laser cut sheet metal components. Steel spring design is unique and offers new design possibilities. In the developed vibration isolation platform separate InfiniSpring-springs were used. In this case the dryer was sitting on top of the washing machine and the vibration isolation platform was dimensioned below the units. Washing machine weight was estimated to be around 70 kg, drier weight 52 kg and laundry weight 11 kg. Total weight being 70 + 52 + 11kg = 133 kg. InfiniSpring 4HS35 spring is for a load range of 25-35 kg. Five 4HS35 springs were chosen to be installed below the units and five springs are for a load range of 125 kg -175 kg. Two 60 cm x 60 cm x 2,7 cm plywood boards were connected using the springs to build the vibration isolation platform. Lower plywood was equipped with adjustment feet to align the vibration isolation platform.</p>
<p>In this case the washing machine vibration and noise transmission to the surroundings is greatly reduced with the vibration isolation platform manufactured using the plywood boards. Vibration isolation platform is light weight and allows easy alignment in the bathrooms. There is also no need to align the washing machine as the platform will take care of the alignment. Please see the vibration isolation platform pictures below describing the assembly.</p>
<p>Step 1: Install adjustment feet to lower plywood</p>

<p>Step 3: Adjust offset between the lower and upper plywood by using e.g. laths above the lower plywood, picture below. Please also see the laths in Step 4 between the lower and upper plywood before spring installation.</p>

<p>Step 4: Calculate and mark the spring locations symmetrically around the center of gravity (washing machine depth direction), picture below.</p>
<p>Calculation:</p>
<ul>
<li>Plywood depth is 60 cm</li>
<li>One spring is installed to the front in this case (spring on the right in below picture), spring location is 30 cm from the middle</li>
<li>Two springs are installed 50 cm from the front, spring locations are 20 cm from the middle</li>
<li>Remaining two springs can be calculated from the middle: 20 cm + 20 cm = 30 cm + X + X, X = 5 cm and springs are installed 5 cm from the middle</li>

Outdoor unit weights are typically around 40 to 50 kg and 3 mm thick <strong style="font-size: 1rem;">InfiniSpring® function perfectly for the outdoor unit vibration and noise isolation. </strong>The support bracket is <strong style="font-size: 1rem;"><strong>made from impregnated wood </strong></strong>and whole installation is <strong style="font-size: 1rem;"><strong>made using 5 mm screws. </strong></strong>Figure 1 below shows the floor standing wooden support bracket design.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Outdoor unit weight is concentrated on the compressor side where pipe connections locate. Therefore, two sets of springs are installed on the compressor side and one set on the other. Figure 2 below shows the spring isolators at both sides of the outdoor unit.</span></p>

<p>During the cold weather the outdoor unit will defrost ice, and this causes water to drain below the outdoor unit. It is recommended not to let the water to drain near the house. Therefore, it is good to fit a plastic tub below the outdoor unit, which can be emptied away from the house. Figure 3 below shows the final installation for the outdoor unit with a 90 liter plastic tub.</p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">One additional recommendation is to install the piping flexibly and this is achieved by using 360° loop at the outdoor unit piping. Figure 4 below shows the piping loop. With this arrangement the vibration isolation performance can be guaranteed as the piping also allows needed flexibility for the springs.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">Air conditioning units are not always an attractive addition to a building and many owners want to cover them. Here shown wooden support bracket functions perfectly as the support frame for a wooden cover. Figure 5 below shows one possible wooden cover design, which was made for an outdoor unit with InfiniSpring®-wooden support bracket.</span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We would like to introduce our <strong>new</strong> <strong>spring</strong> <strong>mounts </strong>from the <strong>InfiniSpring® Company</strong>. Different size <strong>rubber mounts and coil spring mounts are used traditionally</strong> in numerous applications today to reduce vibration, shock, and noise. We wanted InfiniSpring®-springs to be used in these same applications and designed the <strong>InfiniSpring®-spring mount family</strong>. New spring mount <strong>design utilizes two InfiniSpring®-springs</strong> and Figure 1 below shows the design.</p>

<p>InfiniSpring®- spring mounts are <strong>all steel products</strong> and manufactured from a <strong>steel</strong> <strong>sheet</strong> using <strong>laser cutting</strong>. This makes the spring mount extremely <strong>simple product </strong>and it is exceptionally <strong>easy to modify the design</strong> to match different needs. We designed presented series with a design target to enable <strong>versatile mounting options</strong> for the spring mounts. Figure 2 below shows the mounting options for a 3 mm plate thickness InfiniSpring®-spring mount.</p>

<p>The 3 mm plate thickness InfiniSpring®-spring mount is equipped with screw, bolt and M6 threaded holes and it is for loads from 15 kg up to 40 kg. InfiniSpring®-spring mounts function perfectly both in compression and tension and <strong>can be even used as spring hangers. </strong></p>
<p>Load ranges and natural frequencies for different spring mount sizes are shown in Figure 3 below. Single spring mount <strong>load range</strong> is <strong>from 15 kg up to 600 kg</strong> depending on the spring mount size.</p>
